Insanity's Edge is a top-down shooter game set in a world overrun by mutants. The player takes on the role of an exorcist armed with guns instead of a cross, fighting to stay alive while battling hordes of enemies and managing their sanity.

The game features a dynamic sanity system where the player's sanity gradually decreases over time. As the player's sanity decreases, their vision becomes distorted, and they experience other negative effects, making it harder to fight off enemies and survive.

To restore their sanity, the player needs to find safe spots to stand still and take a deep breath, which takes a few seconds to complete. This adds a risk-reward aspect to the gameplay, as the player needs to weigh the benefits of restoring their sanity against the danger of being attacked by enemies.

As the player progresses through the levels, they'll encounter different types of mutants with unique abilities and weaknesses. The player will use their guns to kill the mutants.

The game has unlimited waves with increasing difficulty, and the ultimate goal is to survive as long as possible and achieve the highest score plausible.. The game also features leaderboards where players can compete with each other for the top spot.
